Amorphophallus decus-silvae, Voodoo Lily
Description
Amorphophallus decus-silvae, Voodoo LilyThe famous corpse flower is renown for having the tallest inflorescence in the world. It blooms over a few days and produces a stench like carrion in order to attract its pollinators. Amorphophallus decus silvae is known to be even more colorful and showy than the gigantic titanum. It's no slouch in the size department either with some inflorescences recorded at 10' tall. We find this species to be an easy grower. We grow it in a mix of equal parts
The cross was done between a striped veitchii from the Kelabit Highland and an extremely squat
These are best grown in highland conditions
Exotica Plants has their own version as well which turned out quite nice and large
Seedlings currently have pale coloration which we've noticed is a common characteristic of many young plants of crosses with spectabilis parentage
Clone BE-3658 is purple striped and spotted
Leaves can be over 4 feet long and they have a beautiful velvety sheen
even outside
This should be an outstanding cross given the beautiful coloration and shape of the upper pitchers from both species
BE-3902 and BE-4551
this clone (BE-3737) was chosen amongst thousands of other siblings in the Borneo Exotics breeding program for its vigor and temperature tolerance
A new hybrid coming out of Borneo Exotics
Amorphophallus decus-silvae is known to be even more colorful and showy than the gigantic titanum
